The final project for ME 123 (Introduction to Visualization and Computer-Aided Design) was to create a solid model from a real object using SolidWorks. For my project I chose to model a small desk fan. I chose the fan because of the curved surfaces, which would be more of a challenge to model than flat surfaces. A picture of the real fan is shown below next to the SolidWorks version.
The final assembly used 14 parts to recreate the original fan. A photorealistic render of the SolidWorks model is shown below for comparison with the real object shown above.
The project also required that an exploded view of the assembly and a drawing file for one of the parts be created. Images of these files are shown below; the base was used for the drawing file.
